Going on a ferry or cruise is one of the most luxurious forms of travel. All you have to do is sit back and let someone else do the work. Before You Go
Even before you book your cruise, take the time to check the ship’s report card. By checking a ship’s report card, you can find information on the vessel’s cleanliness and health, both important to consider prior to spending a ton of money on your trip! Keep as little as possible in your room safe — it’s not as secure as you think. Cruises tend to load up on food choices for their passengers, but pay close attention to what you eat. Just because the food’s continuously on offer, you don’t have to spend all your time eating food. When the weather is hot, don’t sit outside sunbathing for long periods of time. Water reflects sunlight, and you will burn much faster. Use a lot of sunblock with SPF 30 and higher. Wear a hat and cover up as much as possible!

If you’re travelling with a car, make sure that you don’t leave any valuables in it. Don’t give thieves the opportunity to walk away with anything of value to you. It goes without saying that you should keep all valuables and documents on you all of the time! Whether you’re travelling by cruise or ferry, never ever go out on deck in bad weather.
Going Ashore
Going ashore off of your cruise ship is meant to be an exotic and fun experience, but they can all have some risks involved too! Keep all your documentation and money with you — but use a money belt and wear it underneath your clothes. Keep your eye out for pickpocketers. Try not to wander too far away.
Try out the local cuisine but just keep in mind that the people making the food might not follow the same hygiene standards as you follow and never drink the tap water. Consume drinks that are bottled!
