Steps to use a color splash
- Select the photo: Pick a photo that has a strong subject and background where black and white color flows nicely.
- Launch Photoshop: Open Photoshop and navigate to your photo. If the photo need resizing do that by clicking on image size under the image and enter appropriate details.
- Set foreground and background to default: Make sure that your photo is set to its default color for foreground and background. They are located on the left side of the toolbar. The foreground should be set to black and background to white.
- Add gradient map layer: Now flip your photo to black and white. Go to the layer panel and select new fill > Gradient map. Photoshop will set a new adjustment layer on the original layer.
